StuSlides 2023
In the realm of design, the balance between functionality and aesthetics is paramount. Three years ago, I crafted a template deck to align with Stuart's 2020 rebranding. However, as the brand continued to evolve, it became apparent that the existing slides, while theoretically sound, faced practical challenges. Instances arose where presentations, led by the CEO, featured titles in a conspicuous hot pink and highlights in a light blue, sometimes invisible on certain projectors.
This prompted a reevaluation of the stuslides' actual functionality. Taking the initiative, I set out to enhance the template, not only improving its visual appeal but also making it more user-friendly.
Key modifications included:
-
Smaller text throughout: Recognizing that the initial title sizes were overwhelming when filled with information, the revised design accommodates the reality of more extensive content, ensuring adaptability for various use cases.
-
Streamlined color palette: To maintain practicality and coherence, we opted for colors within the blue spectrum of Stuart's brand—Dark, Light, and Stuart Blue—avoiding a visual overload.
-
Realistic mockups: While clay mockups are visually appealing, practicality demands a realistic representation to showcase how the product functions in everyday use.
-
Reduced use of illustrations: Acknowledging that Stuart's illustrations, though internally impactful, have no place in a Sales Deck, the new slides exclude references to illustrations, allowing for easy replacement with courier visuals.
-
User-friendly infographics: Infographics were incorporated to present information visually, featuring easily replaceable assets with a link to the cut-out couriers library for seamless customization.
-
Best Practice windows: Introducing windows offering direct access to the asset library, facilitating quick replacements to better suit individual needs.
-
Symbolic use of Green: A deliberate decision was made to reintroduce green with a purpose—symbolizing sustainability in both Stuart and life. The new slide design selectively incorporates green to signify sustainability.
After refining 250 slides, here's a sneak peek at the revamped presentation: [Include preview if applicable].

I also created templates in which the teams can easily create their own design (with constraints: The size and style of type cannot change neither the bounding box) The image selection is only on certain illustrations that are adapted to fit perfectly to the templates without any issue of sizing.
The teams are now more independent; they can create their own posters, newsletter headers, and Linkedin posts this way the design team can have more time to develop higher priority projects.
